INFO:
This supercell thunderstorm was as textbook as they come! We documented this cell, which formed south of Altus, Oklahoma from birth to being completely absorbed into a line of storms. We documented a couple of very weaku002Fbrief tornadoes but what I thought was the most intriguing thing about this cell is just how it looked straight out of a textbook. It had every low-level storm feature you look for, including a textbook and defined wall cloud, a developing tornado cyclone, and even funnel clouds as precursors to tornadoes. As the day continued and the low-level jet increased the wind shear, the storm took on an ominous and beautiful stacked plates appearance. This was a really interesting and educational storm chase day.
