INFO:
Sleep paralysis is a temporary inability to move or speak that occurs when you’re waking up or falling asleep. During an episode, you may be fully conscious and aware of your surroundings but unable to control your body, often accompanied by vivid hallucinations or a feeling of pressure on the chest. This phenomenon happens because your brain awakens from REM sleep while your body remains in a state of muscle atonia (paralysis), which usually prevents us from acting out dreams. Although frightening, sleep paralysis is generally harmless and can be managed with lifestyle adjustments to improve sleep quality and reduce stress.
